strut bar question

i got a sturt bar off of ebay that wont fit. i have a v2 intake and it rubs together, so im filling down the strut bar where it rubs on my intake. will this defeat the purpose of the strut bar?

time to sell the strut bar and get yourself a Neuspeed... rubbing is bad! the intakepipe vibrates a lot
