I know level10 makes a torque converter for our cars, but is it true i have to take mine out and send it to them so they can work on it ? plus im seriously considering buying that 3grand bulletproof tranny and upgraded my internals to handle a 150shot...what ya'll think ?

Rep Power: 286 Do they even make aftermarket auto tranny parts for our cars? When I had my truck tranny go out, I put in a street/strip tranny in thats built for up to 400hp. If you want details on what I bought let me know.. remember though this is for a Chevy truck with a 700r4 tranny, but it might give you some ideas.

Rep Power: 0 i'm not quite sure its worth $3000 for another auto transmission man. u can spend half that and get a manual, do it yurself and u already have a faster car. its just not worth it to upgrade autos. thats just MY opinion.

Rep Power: 359 what about the one jmo made for ours cars in http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/t...1ht_converter/ , but are the transmissions the same for an lx and ex? if they are i might consider getting this, but reason being family car, so cant get manual , but might as well upgrade what i can with still having the car last a long time, any other info on this out there?

Rep Power: 359 on that site it says it improves gas milage so that would be a reason to get it as well as to create a higher stall speed and more power, i mean why not? but all the sites they had listed make ones for like chevvys and stuff not hondas, anyone info on the jmo one?

Rep Power: 0 the tranny on the ex and lx is different internally on some valves, but the torque converter is the same, one member had one from AutoTrans Inc. and said they work great, but theyre in Canada, but they're a lot cheaper than JMO, once i get the money ill send it to them i think it was someting like $350 + 2way shipping

Anyone that would spend 350.00 for 200rpm more stall would have to be on crack! And its the same converter too, they just take yours and cut down the fins. Also, if anyone thinks higher stall gives you better fuel economy is on crack too. Example, an automatic transmission is hydrolic pump, thats all. The converter is spun by the crankshaft and pumps fluid through the valve body which basicly engages different clutch drums that drive the the car. If one cuts off part of the stators fins it becomes less efficient which = less fuel economy. I had a 4k stall converter in my El camino, it gets about 5 mpg, when that converter came apart I threw my old 2800 stall converter in it and it gets about 8 mpg, may not seem like alot but its close to a 40 percent increase. All Im saying is that for the results one may see for the price of this mod its not worth it at all, unless you have 350.00 burning a hole in your pocket.
