Rep Power: 0 Those are good tires...they have the small sidewall and everything...Toyo makes two types the FZ4 and the TS1... the FZ4 are the not the best but they are good

Rep Power: 0 I just went through the whole wheel purchasing experience.
First number is the width, in mm(I think.) 205 is approx 7inches. Second is the size of the sidewall, in mm(I think.) Third is the wheel size, in inches. The "V" is the rating. Which for our cars is more tire than our cars. The tire can handle, someone correct me if Im wrong, up to 149 for an hour. The "R" means radial.
A 40 sidewall is low pro.

Rep Power: 0 the proxes fz4's are not bad tires, they look good, handle well, and grip ok for the money, but, they make more noise than any tires ive ever heard, it's damn horrid, loud and anoying, just crank your stereo or buy better tires!!!! they sound like your driving on pavement thats been scraped up before they repave....

Rep Power: 0 Toyo Proxes FZ4 are ok tires....not better than OK...they are outdated, once the tire of choice, but not anymore...Kumho Excta 712 has replaced these tires as the cheap Performance king...for now....and as for the tire sizing.....205/40VR17...The first number is the width of the tire in mm...the second number is called the aspect Ratio, this is the height of the side wall in a percentage in this case 40% of 205mm which happens to be 82mm...The "V" is the speed rating....The R is for Radial ( your other choice is bias ply but nobody really makes them anymore...first gen tire technology)...and the 17 is the size of rim it will fit on in inches
