Another Blacking/Clearing Headlights Tip

After clearing and/or blacking your headlights, check to make sure ALL of the lights work before reinstalling the bumper. I looked at the headlights and went on. After everything was back together, I notice the parking light is blown. To replace the parking light you have to take out the fenderwell, i.e. take off the tire and break a few more of those plastic clips.

Also, if you plan on replacing the turn signal lights with ambers, read above. Same procedure to replace the turn signals.

Leave it to Honda to require you to take off a tire to replace a lightbulb. So how many Honda techs does it take to change a lightbulb?

eh....You dont need to take off your tire, just the fender well. Unless your car is dropped or something, just jacking it up should be fine. You shouldnt need to take off your tire.

You don't have to take anything off. Turn your wheel so you have enough space to get into your fender wall. Then undo some clips and pull the fender back until you get enough space to get your hand in there.
It's easy as that...

Ok, I appologize for exagerating, a bit. I just put in the amber bulbs. And you do not have to take off the tire. It is possible to remove the screw and platic clip from the bottom, wedge out the fenderwell, pinch your arm thru the opening, and grab the bulb. Yes it is possible. It's easier to remove the tire and have some extra room and remove a couple of more clips. I'd love to see my wife do this. At any rate, what happened to the good old days of opening the hood and unscrewing a lightbulb?

Most of the "old" american cars had lights in the bumpers! This was done so the salt and dirt could easily get into the housing and rust everything! Oh, and yea, if the water didn't get in the back it did when you replaced a bulb and the gasket would leak!
Ah ,yes, the good old days.
