Split cv boot kit...

Hey everyone, ok here is the story, i bought a front axle for my car cuz my cv boot got cut and i needed to replace the axle(shop said that). So i bought a axle off the net(only place i could find it) and got it but it had a very little gash in it, so i ripped the boot off and replaced it with an aftermarket split cv boot kit, anyone know if these will last or is this fix crap? Also if i took it into honda do you think that they would be able to take the thing apart and put a new stock boot on it? Thanks.

split boots are fine, but they require sooner maintenance intervals. I personally wouldnt want to use them.

Do you think honda can put a stock boot on there or can you not take the axle apart to slip it on? And how much sooner then usual do you think i have to check them out?

P.S.I just bought an air ride so the boots gonna be moving around alot.

split boots

Split boots are crap, under high RPM the will spit out all the grease inside. However if you do decide to use it seal the joining dege with silicone allow it to dry for 24-48 hours before installing the axle back on the car. I also recomend you wipe both sides of the joining edges with alachol (rubbing) before applying the silicone.
