Grounding Kit or Hyper Voltage System?
Ok, any one out there with either of these types of kits. Both claim to make the same thing happen to your car. Increased throttle response, brighter headlights, less radio noise, sometimes more power and better fuel enconomy. What I want to know is, is any of that true. Mainly the fuel economy. Looking up something for a friend. Dont need to know how to make my own...or someone to tell me its a waste of money. If it saves you gas...he wants it.

i think you can install both kits together. I think these kits are more for people with a sound system in help with their light dimming problem and better throttle response in general. don't bet on it for having a better fuel economy, but it might help a bit, just don't depend on it.

The HVS is expensive but yes it does do almost everything they claim. Gas mpg up 2, noticable throttle response from a stop, smoother revs, works better with upgraded factory ground wires. Highly recommended. It's not a huge mod, but you'll feel a difference.

Ya other companies are starting to copy those things and integrate the ground wires into them. Apexi and a couple others. I would still get the original from Japan with your own ground wires. I got my hvs from optauto.com and you gotta search.

hvs is an actual capacitor box that regulates the flow of voltage. Ground kit is just some wires that you replace the stock thin ones with.

With the ground wires, I chose to just replace the factory grounds rather than run wires all over the place that don't help anyway. The hvs just connects to the battery terminals. It helps more with the ground wires, but not necessary. The hvs does give a noticable difference.

Well no, each factory ground is tied back to the battery, just like other kits. The only difference is I'm only grounding factory determined points and not 5 different places on the chassis that do nothing.
Stock grounds are tranny, chassis, and engine (thermostat housing). That's all you need and it's actually bad to ground everything in sight (ground loops = bad things happening).

Well, if that is what you say. I am no expert, but I am sure that the company designed the kit such that all ground wires are actually hooked up.
BTW, what guage wire are you runnin from ya battery to the chassis?

And I'm sure honda chose their ground points for a reason. It's all 4 gauge wire. I'm running a larger terminal with the chassis ground connected to the terminal itself, and the engine and tranny grounds with ring terminals on the screw. I shaved the ground areas to get a better connection, however they are getting rusty even with dielectric grease. I need to sand em down when it gets warm again.

because everyone likes it so much
I'll try and take a few pics, but they're easy to find. Just follow the wire from the negative terminal to a bracket mounted on the chassis, follow it more to the tranny. The other one is that wire going from the engine block to the front frame in the middle. So just remove all those cables and put three new ones to the battery negative and run one to each stock grounding point.

I bought mine for $40 basically some wires with ring terminals put on already. Homemade, but really it's all the same stuff. Just make sure it's quality 99.9% copper. I would not go anything thicker than 4 gauge either.

oh um the real one that says hyper voltage system is the one from Japan. The others are knockoffs and might not have the same quality. But I think apexi is a good company for the most part. Theirs may be better than most.
