How To Remove Ex Ebrake Handle

well guys, the techs at honda told me it was glued on, which i have no idea if that is true or not, cause i have the whole center console out and i can't seem to get that rubber piece off my ebrake handle to install my momo ebrake handle/boot. any help/pics would be much appreciated. TIA.

Wouldn't surprise me if it would be glued on. Often service techs like to lie especially if they don't feel like doing it. If you have the console out, then take a flat head and it give it alittle pry from the bottom. Worst scenerio you give it alittle scuff where you can't see it and thats not where it comes off. I'm sure someone here knows

It's a bitch to get off! Take a hacksaw to it but make sure the momo ebrake is going to fix because once you cut it off thats it and it's $40 for another.

Just cut it off. Take an exacto knife and run a slit all the way down the side or underneath... from back to front.

It's not glued, just molded to perfectly that it's very hard to get off.

Its glued. Like R1Stlye said just use an exacto knife down the down to the floor then just peel it off with your hands and pull hard. You should be left with a metal skeleton of the whole thing. Then just but your boot on and the button just twist's off. PM me if you need more help man.

I know the BMW 3-series(E46)' handbrake handles are glued on... and my friend and i are having a hard time trying to get it out. so i wouldn't be surprise that the civic ones are the same too.

yeah i got that momo ebrake, its glued on. slice it up and slide the adapter on there really nice inside of the ebrake handle. i put some lube in there because the adapter didnt fit on too well. by the way i have an '04 and just had a basic civic adapter. i think i had to hollow out the adapter a little bit if i remember
