Noob question
tightening the throttle cable would give you a quicker response at the gas pedal. you wouldnt have to push it as far down as you would have to. it isnt a performance mod but a simple mod thats useful when gunning it
i think theirs a diy on this. try searching for it. only pic provided was a diagram

i learned from
gearbox
i noticed my rep didnt go up at all.... *hint hint*
so would that increase acceleration off the line? i do like to hear about that response time improvement i feel like when i floor it it takes a half second then it takes off (keep in mind i have an auto)

it wont increase yer acceleration.. but it will improve the response time.. they come stock with about 3/4 of an inch of play..
if you adjust it right as soon as you press the pedal it will respond.. if you do it wrong you will still have play in the cable (too little adjustment).. or you will idle at a higher rpm (too much adjustment)
since you have an auto (like me).. what the hell are you doing wasting yer time racing? anyway.. it wont make yer car move any faster.. from what i can tell the auto transmition takes a moment longer to respond than the manual.. thats just the nature of the beast.. no way to change that that i can think of without wasting a bunch of money for a .05 second faster responce.. .. in the words of the mustang gearhead kid i work with "dood.. its a civic.. and an auto.. just make it look pretty.. yer not gunna out run anyone.. yer only chance is to out drive them.. but even then.. its a civic.."
the intake is the short black one on ebay for like $30.. it comes about 1/2 an inch to high and is missing a hose clamp.. so cut it and get a clamp.. then you will notice that its sorta "tinny".. so take it out.. sand it.. then put 3 more coats of paint on it.. then it sounds nice... it does nothing as far as performance...
