exhaust piping
hi guys. i want to get bigger piping to make my car a lil bit louder. i just have a bomz muffler on there and intake. i like the deep sound but it's kinda quite. what size piping should i get??
before you get flamed ill help you out... dont read any of the posts after this lol
loud isnt good if it sounds like a weed eater, if you want a loud deep tone with no loss(MAYBEE a slight gain) you can either get one of the few catbacks that have a good resonator built in(check sound clip thread thats around somwhere) OR what i did is buy a regular aftermarket muffler(tenzo oval w/o the ricy thin wall tip) and a 18" 2.5" resonator
and had a local shop bend me a cat back from 2.5 inch mild steel the whole install cost me 120 and the muffler cost me like 60.

ps.... and if you have an ex you can get rid of the lame cat, which with definatly free up a few hp(3-4) and will sound much better, if you have dx/lx try to get the kamikazi headers, with exhaust its about the best mod combo you can do for engine performance (bout 10 hp all together)

Would that fit onto my car?

If you want it louder
get 2.25" piping ( I suggest aluminized piping)
and don't add a resonator.
Also don't get ride of the cat unless your smog laws don't require you needing one.

Do you think this is a good setup???
I already have 2.25" pipe with Magnaflow muffler, stock header and stock downpipe/cat. It sounds deep and great!
But, with that setup, what changes in sound and performance would I notice??

performance: prob 2-4hp. but cant gaurantee that.
imo, i'd scratch the obx header and look into hp or kamakazie* since you have an ex manual, HP makes a full race header which is the top shorty header combined with the downpipe to your cat. but theirs other options like going with the shorty header and use the megan hi flow test pipe (which is basically a downpipe and cat). up to you. i think the set-up will turn out nice. but not really worth the price if u ask me
and to verify something: the megan hi flow cat/test pipe/resonator does not make your car sound horrible. having no resonator on your exhaust will make your car sound like ****. and mostly if its 2.5" piping exhaust...
