Please Help me... damn gas thieves...
Please help... I came out of Church yeah church, and found out that someone tried to pry open my fuel door to steal my gas. They couldn't get through the latch, but now my fuel door is bent beyond belief. I've got 2 questions.
A) Where can I get a new painted OEM fuel door
B) in the event that they weren't tryin to steal my gas, but just screw around with me, do generic locking gas caps work on Civics?
If you all can help I'd greatly appreciate it...

who the **** steals gas from a cars gas tank?
a) i doubt members here will have spare ones. you can try a junk yard but your civic is pretty recent and new up to date. so im gonna say the dealer.
b) you should at least try it. if your drive ur car with no gas cap to seal in. more air is gonna get in contact with the fuel. air+fuel into engine isnt a good idea. so find somthing that will seal the gas tank tightly as a temporary.

Its this fuel lid thats funked to crap.
1. You can try the dealer, your local auto dismantler, or online at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com.
2. Yes a generic gas cap with a lock & key that you can buy from your local auto parts store should work with the Civic.
Do you have any crazy kids or people who hate you at church? They might have been trying to put something in the gas tank rather than steal gas.
i'm in the middle of moving, currently live in a pretty rough neighborhood, and its not uncommon at all for crackheads to go up to cars and try and siphon gas out of the tank... but these are crackheads, not people of the book. sorry about your luck man.
I'm thinking the same thing man... you have any enemies??? I would get a locking gas cap QUICK if you do!!! Then get it fixed at a dealer, then maybe an alarm (if you have any pissed of ex's...)

Well I bought my locking gas cap... 15 bux @ Autozone. It's kinda sad that I had to do this, but living on the border of Mexico thankfully they only tried to steal my gas. I guess it could have been worse. It's fairly ironic cuz people here bitch about gas being almost 2 bux a gallon but it's funny cuz my girlfriend who lives in Hawaii, wishes her pricing was as low as mine...

Locking gas cap.
Hey, you can find a locking gas cap for a Civic at pep boys. Back when I had my 99 626, I bought one from there. Goto the section where all the gas caps are, and there should be a little book thing somewhere that tells you which cap would fit your car.
