Side Skirt problems

Hey i dunno if this is the right forum to post but i hope so. I recently purchased some used side skirts <the velzo> kind, and the shop called me saying that they can't install it because they're missing the "retainer steel".
Its used to make the side skirt to be strong.. i have no idea.. can somebody verify this ? thanks in advance

I'm not familiar with those sides but I have the WW G5s.. Mine have like a flap on them in the middle so a "retainer bar" would be able to help support it.. I think using double-sided tape and bolts would be sufficiant but a bar would make for extra support. I actually called the shop I got my sides from too and they said they never sold those sides with any extra brackets/bars. I might just make a custom bar so I know my sides are on like a ****!

Mine are urethane too.. But they have this awkward-assed flap hanging from the middle and I had no idea what the hell to do with it until my body guy mentioned a bar thing.

That retainer bar can be purchased from Honda. The bar mounts to the side of the car with double sided tape, you use some more double sided tape and mount the skirts to the the retainer bar. The rest of the install is pretty straight forward.

So would you say basically without the "retainer bar" slap on some double sided tape and mount the sides on with the skirt ? that's why i'm thinking of doing since i got the call from the mechanic.

The retainer bar is to fill the gap that is between your side skirt and the side of your car. Without that bar you will not be able to stick your side skirt on to the side of your car.
