Surf Racks anyone?

Hey everyone, I was looking to get a surf rack for my 2003 2dr LX; I was wondering if any one else had one and had any opinions on how:

: a surf rack would actually fit on the civic
: hard vs. soft
: how it looks?

Seems like what might make the most sense is a hard, gutterless rack, but I'm not sure if the spacing works on a 2 door model. Anyhow, hopefully there's some fellow surfers on this board who might be able to help, thanks!

Hey dude take up spongin

Hey bro,
I had to read your post...sorry for your dilemna, I bodyboard and my custom-x or toobs fits right in my board bag in my trunk or rear seat of my coupe. I think hard racks would look good on your coupe, but you could always pick up a bodyboard and your prob is solved bro

Muaha, this is where 4 door cars own! lol jk. Well the strap racks usually require 4 doors to attach to, which is what I plan on getting. For now my 6"+ board fits fine when I fold down the bigger side of the back seat (60). I have a 12" sub in the back too, but I just push that to the right. The hard racks (Thule or Yakima) seem to cost a lot! I would get them if I had $400, but for now my snowboards and surfboards are just going in the trunk.

^^Ohh sweet! It looks like it fits fine, but seems like it would be rather hard if if was a longboard.

hey, thanks to everyone who's replied;

Cali man here, current down in the SD area; my board does fit if i fold the back seat down (its a 7'6), but it really cuts down on any passenger room (even the front passenger seat is cramped for leg space). I def. agree with SVongkasem that the hard racks are a bit too pricey for my taste, and Samscivic, what racks are those? They look great!
