COLD Air intake?
I was just wonderin how much of a problem water would be if I had an intake?
Say my engine was dirty and i had it shampooed, would water get into the intake?
And if water gets in, what would happen?
Thanks for the help?

Big problem. Water either stalls the engine or breaks it at higher rpm. Plus you're gonna have more dirt being sucked in, which isn't good for it either. And the intake piping still heats up in the engine bay. Do you still want one? Oh and it only gives you 1-2hp.
Take of your filter and cover the pipe hole with plastic when you shampoo. If you have bypass filter, take of the filter, pipe between filter and bypass, and the bypass, and cover the pipe hole. They are easy to be taken off. If it rains drive the car slowly OR you want to convert it to short ram; and don't drive through flood.
For me, it is not only hp gain (1-2 hp, how much can human feel), but more the response you can feel when you push the pedal (accelerate), makes your car feel energetic.

I gained more responsiveness by tightening my throttle cable than I ever did with an intake. And actually, the stock intake is more responsive at low rpms due to the air box acting as a plenum.
George19....I went with the short ram, bought it used for $60 and am pleased with mine as I didn't notice the loss at the low end. There are lots of people though who have noticed a loss though. I personally wouldn't have paid more or gone full on CAI
Gearbox, not to offense. Tightening throttle cable is increasing responsiveness in your foot, not engine. Say this, cruising at third gear at 2000 rpm then suddenly stomp your gas to 4000 rpm. How many seconds you get? That's how I measure the responsiveness.
