Lightbulb would this combo work?

before starting off, i apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum to post in

i have an 2003 ex coupe and decided to work on my exhaust system now.
but i need help figuring out my combination of parts to make an complete system (excluding the headers).

what i had on mind was a muffler w/ 2.25" custom piping and "megan hi-flow cat" (link: http://www.tornactive.com/pd_megan_racing_high_flwo.cfm ).

i have a few questions about this set:

1) will the megan cat require any kind of drilling/welding? if no, will it bolt right on to my custom 2.25 piping and my stock header?

2) when smog check comes, will i be able to replace all the aftermarket parts with my OEM factory exhaust system by just bolting it back on?

3) which size piping would you guys recommend? opinions

sorry for the questions if their so stupid but im working on my knowledge with the exhaust and how it works. so if any one can help me out, i would really appreciate it

kezay is an unknown quantity at this point
The Megan Cat does not require any drilling or anything. However I recommend using 2" for the rest of the exaust because our cars need backpressure to perform best (That is provided that you have a natrually aspirated engine not FI).

thanks kezay.

before i try out this exhaust set, i have more questions about the "o2 sensor"
im brand new to that stuff and i know it has to do with the cat. but what is the o2 sensor and should i be worrying about the o2 sensor?
should i expect my car to eat up more gas fuel after modifying the exhaust?

thanks

An O2 sensor is a sensor that sends voltage readings back to the ECM so that it can make the appropriate adjustments in the air/fuel mixture. Most cars come stock with a narrowband O2 sensor which doesn't read as accurately as a wideband O2 sensor.

If you remove this sensor your gas mileage will go down and performance will be affected.

Hope this helps.

^^thanks for the quick response. info helped a lot.

if i let a local shop install a megan hi flow race cat with 2.25" custom piping onto my flowmaster muffler... will that mess with the O2 sensor?

and where is this located at? before or after the cat?
