What did you do with the front trim? Leave it chrome, or did you get a black one, and if you did get one, where?

Can you just paint the rear trim chrome piece or will it flake off?

Just get it from the dealer. It's the 04 model painted trim. You could try and paint it, but it's gonna take alot of prep work. At least the chrome will hve to be sanded off. Then you need primer and a paint adhesive. It might not even match when you're done.

I need to find a cheap way to get mine. I have a clover green pearl civic sedan, so it's kind of hard to find a rear trunk piece that comes in that color...

You have to get it painted unfortunately. Maybe you can try to get your paint color in a spray can, then prep and paint it yourself. It could work, and it won't cost you alot.

Make sure they garantee their work cuz when i took it to this shop they said theyre not sure if they can paint it good since its chrome and its $40. So i was like **** it!! Ill just get a new one at the dealers and for sure it would come out perfect wit no problems. Its not how much u spend on ur car its how much u do it right the first time

Yeah. If it were up to me, all the 01-03 sedans would be recalled to get the chrome replaced with painted trim.
