I have recently gotten my AEM short ram but I haven't intalled it onto my car yet cuz my car in the shop rite now....cuz some stupid people decided to be dumb and do donuts on grass after a storm and ended up rear ending me...But anywayz...
I was just wondering if these will do anything to my car. Would I feel any power gains?
And how loud is it?

Rep Power: 310 just dont expect too much from a sri. its a good start and i have an aem sri in my automatic... its not loud at all, but it adds that nice sound when u hit above 3000x rpms.

Rep Power: 0 its quiet when ur drivin but when you floor it you hear a little vaccuum sound and when you have it in the upper rpm's it sounds nice, you may not notice any difference now but if you add a header and exhaust they all compliment eachother and add more power so i think its worth it, and an intake is an intake, no one intake is gonna make tons more power than any other so its all preference but you probably already know this

Rep Power: 263 yeah agreed. I have generic (Ractive) SRI in my car. Its not a injen or aem, but its still got the same brand filter on the end (K&N).
Why do u guys bother spending the extra cash on brands like AEM and injen if they do pretty much the same thing?
SRI intake will not really add any power. Some people will say they can feel the difference, but seriously, there's no difference. They only difference I notice, is when vtec kicks in, it makes a louder sound.

Rep Power: 0 well they DO improve air flow cause goin from that accordian plastic to smooth metal has better air flow and other restrictions in the stock air box too so pretty much any intake is better than stock, personally if i could i'd choose a cai instead of an sri cause i liked the way my cai sounded on my si better than the way my sri sounds on my ex but i dont feel like spendin any money to buy an cai just for a sound difference but yeah back to what i was sayin some ppl say intake does nothin but sound.... thats wrong it does help air flow and does add a little power, just not a lot of power and probably not enough to feel it

Rep Power: 0 The reason to by AEM to me is the pefect fit and you know everything you need is gonna be in the box! A intake does make power, i'd say a intake on a D17 VTEC probably makes 5 hp maybe more in the top end from 5000 rpm's up. And gives good trottle response.

Rep Power: 0 You guys can dog on the Civic all you want but I would be willing to bet that it would make 5 hp somewhere in the powerband. I'd be willing to put my money on it! Maybe I have to much hope for the Civic. I've also owner a 92 SI hatch and a 97 GSR so i've been in the Honda game for a minute.

Rep Power: 0 OK! In Import Tuner August of 01, they tasted a 01 EX Civic. The base line was 110.5 hp and 103.5 tq.
The first part was a Hayame SRI intake. The Civic then spun 114.7 hp and 106.5 tq.
Then they put DC Tcs and that made 1.8 hp and 1 tq.
The intake in the first run made a big clime from 4300 rpm up to redline. And made more power from 2000 to 3500. If you don't believe me, find someone with the issue.
Thats almost 5 hp from a SRI WooHoo! Wheres my turbo! LOL
