Body Kits???- 03 Civic Ex
Hello everybody, i have a lil short story for you about my red 2003 honda civic ex 2 door, so here goes. I was driving down this four lane road at about 40 mph when all of a sudden this mini van in front of me runs over a plastic garbage can lid, it somehow gets propelled into my front end, and manages to get lodged underneath my bumper, ripping it apart. Unfortuneate i know. Well this is what i figure. Its gonna cost me 600 bucks to replace my factory front bumper, so why not just bust out with a whole body kit instead? Yes this is what i am going to do. What Im asking of you all is to give me any useful information i can use when buying this kit. Im debating on whether to go with fiberglass, or make the upgrade to urethane. Also is there any kits that i might come across that are pieces of crap, or any companies that have ripped you off? Im leaning towards either getting an octane R34 kit, skyline R33, or a Wings West G5. Please reply with any tidbits of info u might have, thanks. Joined: Sep 2003

Do NOT get a fiberglass front end. For that matter, do NOT get any fiberglass body piece. Go with the urethane and be happy that it can bend more freely than the fiberglass.

if you wanna pay to fix your fiberglass pieces everytime they break, then go ahead...
what i said above is what i've heard from all the other members here, but some will say that fg is still better/cheaper. they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

I think im going to go with the Bomex kit as well. Yes it is fiberglass but everyone that has bought the original Bomex brand have no complaints. Yes the cheap ebay knock off fiberglass is crap but fiberglass has its ups as well. Ureathane changes shape during extreme temps because of the wax in it and can cause a bad fit over time. Fiberglass if it breaks is very easy to fix and cheap. Ureathane is not. A friend of mine has had a fiberglass kit on his MX-3 for about 5 years with no problems. Bottom line is you get what you pay for.
urethane is good. extreme temps is like almost never. fiberglass is okay. theres a chip here and there once in a while. if you want a clean look go with the unreathane type rs kit. if you want an aggresive look go with the bomex.

There are pros and cons with everything you do, including owning a thane or glass body kit.. Depends on road conditions where you live. How you drive on those roads and so forth.. IMO glass is just as good as thane..
It can go either way..
Side note: If you consider the R34 Octane kit, I have one (4 pc kit) brand new and unpainted I am selling for $350 + shipping.
