cheap body kits?
hey everbody, this past week my 03 civic ex suffered a tragic/freak accident with a flying plastic garbage can lid, and now the right side of my front bumper is destroyed. Instead of paying 600 bucks for another factory bumper i figure i might as well slap on a body kit instead. I was wondering if u guys could share any problems u have had in your vast body kit experience, and if u have any good sources where i can find a decent kit that fits exactly to my car for around $400. Thanks.
i know a shop that sells buddy club kits for 400 (made by extreme dimensions, not actual buddy club). I dunno how well it fits, but for all these bite off kits, you can't expect perfect fitment especially for $400. If you are interested, I can help you out, but shipping will be the problem.

The bottom part of my bumper cracked from a runaway tire, so insurance gave me $600. I ended up getting the full OEM lip kit for $750 to cover it up. Comes painted and everything.
Cocky guys kick ass!

don't buy fiberglass, you'll end up just buying another kit within weeks. drop a glass bowl in the floor... basically the same as a rock hitting a fiberglass kit. lol. whatever you get, get urethane. i'd go with a clean looking kit.. like WW G5.. JMO. i don't really like the bigger ones. i like it to look as if it goes with the car, and isn't running away from the car. lol.
opinions vary with urethane vs. fiberglass kits. I had a urethane kit and got rid of it after a month and went with fiberglass. Urethane kits will warp if you have sudden weather changes. Urethane expands and contracts with hot/cold weather. Expanding and contracting will also cause the paint to crack. Also, urethane has wax in it, so its a pain in the *** to get the paint to stick in the first place.
I bought the Bomex fiberglass kit for $750. Perfect fit, havent had any problems. If you have a wreck and mess up the urethane kit, you might as wel throw it away. With fiberglass kits, they are easy and inexpensive to fix.
I would go with fiberglass IMO. But get it from a reputable dealer so you will get good fitemnt. Bomex is High Quality. Dont get a cheap ebay kit.

pretty much it depends on where you live, conditions of your roads, and weather..
I live In New England, and the roads are crap. My first front end was cracked all over, but still stayed on.. but now I have polyurethane, it hasnt done me wrong yet.

Honestly you get what you pay for.
I purchased a replica OEM lip ABS plastic for dirt cheap and it does not sit properly around the corners.
Spend the extra money or buy a used original kit. You'll be much happier.
