Adhesive/Door Moisture Barrier?

Hey everyone, this may seem like a weird question. Ever since I installed my compoents in my doors and peeled away the white plastic moisture barrier, the adhesive has never stuck to the door, rather it just peels off, allowing water to enter into my car. I was curious to know if anyone knows what that is so I can buy some and re-adhere the moisture barrier to the door panel? If not, is there any alternative that I can use? I tried tape, but it doesn't work and even if it does, it still lets water through. Thanks.

I have a whole role of fatmat at home, but I would think that constant exposure to moisture when it rains would weaken the integrity of the adhesive overtime and it would just fall off.
