I have that book. You can learn some basic background info, what what different parts do, etc.
There's nothing about 7th gens in it, tho, as you said.

#2. Secrets of Solo Racing By Henry A. Watts (Teach you how to drive)
#3. Winning, A race Drivers Handbook By George A. Anderson (great info on Driving/racing Mostly about club racing)
#4. Drive to win By Carroll Smith (Learn to drive some more)

i havea book like that one but it is different it mentions the 7th gens but for the most part all d-series engens are the same and i found it very helpful on what parts do what. so i think it was worth it.
