I was wondering if there was a way to make the guages glow white @ night.... Im not talking about the reverse guages... Is there an LED in there? How is it lit @ night?

The gauges a lit by bulbs in the back of the cluster which you can put gels, condoms, etc. over them to change the color. Unfortunately, I don't know of any gels/condoms that could change them white. I'm not sure if the existing bulb holders can be converted to use led's as I am not familiar with led's. Even then though, most led's do not provide a wide light pattern, just focused, so they may not provide even backlighting. Can someone else whose done led gauge light conversions answer Impulse's question. Sorry I couldn't answer it.

I know how to do a LED conversion for regular light bulbs. I think I have the diagram on my computer at home. Let me get through the next 3 days (3 exams) and I'll try to find it and post it. It's pretty slick. You can actually buy "white" leds that have an HID color to them.

uhhh... What exactly do u mean by that???? White LEDs ? Or White LEDs that look blue/purple from the side? o_O

It is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get true white light. So it needs to vary in the spectrum a little bit. It gets close, but the LEDs, depending on the brand usually have either a blue or violet hue to them. Its not perfect. If you look at them, they kind have that HIDish look.

Here's the schematic. This should be good to 18V AC. Since the car runs off of 12VDC, you may be able to eliminate some components that would be for AC/DC conversion, but I'm not an electrowhiz... I can just follow diagrams. Consult with the geek at the electronics store about what you may be able to remove.
