Shift boot attachment
Okee. I searched, but didn't find very good results.
I'm planning on getting an aftermarket shift **** for my car, but the one that I want doesn't have the little clips on the bottom to attach to that ring on my OEM shift boot.
I know that every car doesn't have these clips on their boot, how does the boot attach on other cars? How do you attach the boot to a **** without those?
Some of the ***** have screws in the bottom of them to, somehow attach the boot, but does that look right? Seems to me like it would look goofy. Do I need to buy an aftermarket shift boot to get it to work with a different ****, or do I just wack the plastic clip off of the OEM one?
I know the base RSX **** has the clips on the bottom, but I want something different. Are there other ***** out there with the clip on the bottom? Thanks for any help.

1. Home depot works, electrical section..
a. go to store and get a grommet somewhere, approx 3/4 diameter..
b. take your naked boot, it should have the old collar folds so the top loops in
c. cut the grommet from the middle slit straight down so it looks like a 90 degree
d. insert cut grommet into the boot fold where it should've been from stock
e. turn boot inside out and zip-tie the part you cut
f. if you want to be lazy super glue it to the boot, it stays on well..
Stock clip will work with rsx type s , new si leather shiftknob as well

I have a better way with no cutting. PM me for instructions and pics... and please leave an Email address, as I am not photo savy enough to reduce picture sizes for this site.

I bought a momo shift **** & ran into the same problem. I just went shopping at home depot & found what is called a "pipe nipple", hehe, for like 3 bucks in the plumming section. I zip tied it to my shift boot just like the stock clip. You could put a rubber grommet under it to keep it up on the ****, or you could push it all the way down on the rod like I did.

i clipped the zip tie that holds the plastic clip on, went under neath the consol and zip tied the boot to the stick and then wrapped tape around the zip tie so it wouldnt fall from hard shifting.....

it looks a little screwed up there, but i have since fixed it when i got my revo ss.
