I had a 2.25 inch on my old coupe and i wish i went with a 2 inch. The shop that did it said to put 2 inch but i told them 2.25 and i think i lost some low end from going with the bigger pipe. If you go turbo then 2.5 to 3 in if you can fit it.

I have 2.25 inch piping on my car and it drives nice and sounds nice. I think 2 inch piping would be ok too, but for turbos I would recommend 3 inch piping.

i read something on this and it recommends 2.25 for 1.7 liter engines. go 2.5 if you have 2.0 liter. Hope this helps

Yeh when u install a 2.5 pipe on our 1.7 liter it loses power b/c the pressure from the engine doesn't fill the piping completly. The reason why people get bigger pipes is to balance out the pressure coming from your intake to your engine and out your exhaust. Before your engine is forcing the air through your 1.75 stock pipe, but when you go 2.0 or 2.25 it lets the pressure go much easier givng you more top end.

oh yeh and this is the reason you want to go 2.5 or 3.0 pipe with turbos and nas because those induce a hella lot of pressure. Consider your car like a respiratory system. The more air your engine gets the harder it can work without getting too work up. 3 things help your car breath and those turbo, supercharger, and nos.
