Kamikaze Header black vs ceramic
I am going to purchase the Kamikaze header but I am tring to decide if the extra $50 is worth it. Does anyone have the Ceramic Kamikaze header? I need to know if the coating just gets burned off, and does it really keep the header that much cooler? any help is appreciated thx..

I have been using my black Kamikaze header for 10 months now. The black has faded a little, but no chipping or anything like that. The Ceramic header looks awesome!! I just dont think its worth an extra 50$
Are you sure this will work with an HX??
Are you buying the LX or EX model?
you should double check before you buy.

I am going through BigJoshRacing and he says that his vendor told him it will work for a HX. But I am not sure which one lx/ex model. either one I have to make a custom downpipe, so does it really matter which model? And I thought that $50 for ceramic is pretty cheap since getting them dipped yourself costs over $150.

actually it'll fit the HX without any mod I believe.
the HX's exhaust manifold is the same crap setup as the DX/LX. no offense. (its just, if you take a look at it.. its really not a header at all.. a super short tube that merges the cylinder exhaust ports right into the cat convertor. sheesh)
even after you get rid of the first cat convertor.. you'll still have another one down below, where the EX has its.
the HX has two cat convertor.
well I'm not 100% sure if the 01 HX has two.. can't tell from the diagram... but the 02 should definitely have one..
check under your hood, and under ur car... to see if you have two cat convertor.
you may want to spend that $50 u save on a O2 simulator kit.
the black coating may be fine. if not, get some thermo-tec header wrap, it'll definitely keep the header heated for faster exhaust velocity and cooler engine temp.
I bought a few for my 4-1 stainless header.
although, using header wrap will place the header under more strain, and may not cover kamikaze's warranty (if there's any)... since the header may crack or warp easier.

well I am getting a pakage deal it is the header+high flow cat+mil eliminator which will take care of the first cat. I think that the ceramic header will be cooler even if by chance it does burn off.

yeah it may be cooler coating..
if its worth the extra money or not is up to you.
if they coated it right, it shouldn't come off easily. at least not within a few years worth of miles.
