help, new rear bumper but it doesn't match.... (updated)

i got it painted, it cost 150 by the way. anyways, i got it painted and its like not the exact same color. at night time u cant tell. but during yesterday when i went to get it i could kinda tell. its not like shiny shiny, its a little duller then the color of the body. like its not that nice smooth surface, its just duller. i think what they did was sand it and paint it or just paint it. so anyways, is there something they forgot to do. like is there a clear coat paint i can put on it to make it look shinnier. he said the car paintis really metallic and the bumper isn't as metallic if that makes sense. thanx for the help if u kno how i can fix it. not very noticeable and by the way, its an opium urethane full rear bumper and like it sticks out at the front lower end of the headlight, i guess cuz it cant fit flush. so i dunno what to do with that part either. i guess sand it down, but it'll have nothing left of it.

i think they either got their color codes mixed up, or may have not buffed it as well, but no if it is a good body shop then it should be the exact same color, and it is there problem to fix it, i would take it too a different body shop to get there opinion on why it isnt the exact same color and then go back and make the shop redo it.

well i was looking at it closer today cuz when igot it i was in a rush and it looks like they didn't even sand it or anything before they painted it. they obviously didn't fit it either before they painted it cuz when i arrived, it wasn't even on my car and so i had to wait for them to put it on for like 45 minutes. also, i can see where the dried up urethane is glopped up on some edges where it should of been sanded and all u kno. any ideas of what i should do. i told the guy it doesn't match right and he was like, let it sit in the sun and bring it back so we can buff it or something more. i dunno if any buffing will work on it tho. any help is appreciated. thanx. any philly area people can pm me and maybe i'll bring it down adn show u if u want and have u help me decide. im off to class now but i will be checking back with this thread later today around 1

Yeah, if it was a good body shop they would have blended the paint color on the bumber to the color of the factory paint....Take it back and tell them you want it done right!!!!

yeah man take it back show im it doesnt match, and show them where it needs fixed. It should have been sanded with a 1000 grain sand paper right before it was painted to make it rough, then after it was painted sanded with a 2000 grain sand paper to smooth it out and then buffed.

by the way, i payed 100 for install, and it still sticks out, so i dunno. im gonna call them right now to find out what they can do. i've obviously not pleased with there painting at all. they obviously didn't sand it or anything before or after and they said a little buffing will work. its obviously not even the same color to me. ahhhhhhhhhhh, just venting, haha. someone better fix my crap! or they aint getting there money, and i'll dispute that charge.

anyways, i called them and i told him the problems and this is what he said...
he:it'll be another 150 to blend it in.
me: umm, i thought when i paid you to paint my bumper it was gonna match.
He: well its hard to get the exact color.
Me: well my front and side are both painted the exact color.
He: well you can pay like 5 or 600 to get a real good paint job.
Me: I thought when i payed you to paint my bumper you were going to paint it to match right. It looks like its not sanded because theres still build up of urethane everywhere. (obviously i wanted to have my bumper match, hello! its a new car. why would i want a crappy paint job)
he: usually you sand it and put three coats of primer on it and etc...
me: also, the side sticks out, do you think you can sand that down or something to fix it.
he: we could maybe heat it up and push it in. bring it in adn i'll fix it.

i hope he fixes it, thats all i have to say. didn't kno i was gonna get a crappy paint job for 150. i obviously woulda went and got a nicer job if i had known it was gonna be crappy. Anyways, i hope they fix it and make it look right.

edit: gonna bring my dad this time to make sure they dont think they can pull something on me, cuz im a kid.

good yeah they can use a heat gun to mold those sides since it is poly urethane, and that is bull **** because who would pay a dime for a crappy paint job and about it being more money to blend that is rediculous because no matter what you paint it has to be blended or it will look like a totally different color.
