Someone please explain how this works
I bought the Revo SS and in my hast to install this awesome product I never compared it to the stock shift assembly. I was wondering how it actually reduces the throw by 40% (claimed by manufacturer)? All I do know is this is by far one of the best things I've added to my car, along with Capyoda's bushings.
So exactly how does it work????

Screw up the gears? How do you figure?
All it is really is a lever which pulls on two cables. If the shifter rod is shorter, and the cable mount is higher on the shifter, all it's really doing is using less motion to achive pulling out the same amount on the cable, understand what I mean? It really makes sense if you pull your center console off and look down in there and see how it works. I wish I would have been the one to invent it!

lol not to be a D1CK .. BUT u have NO idea what ur talking about ... sooo shhhush.
what does that have to do with a short shifter? if you shift properly it makes no difference how hard u slam into gears... what ur talking about is what happens when people dont know how to shift period.
Installed the Revo ss myself and was amazed as to the simplicity and yet the effectiveness of the product. All I say is try the product and install it yourself you'll be proud of your work and will be smiling everytime you shift.
In layman's terms, it's just a different way of shifting...a different way of getting from point A to point B... Point A and Point B itself never changed, just the way to get there, no better or worse. That's the only analogy I can think of relevant to the conversation.

Actually, a short shifter in theory could make your synchro's wear out faster, since the shifter is moving faster, that means that there's more pressure on the gears, BUT this is really only a problem if you're being retardmo and not feeling the transmission. SO if you shift properly, then it shouldn't do any harm, but if you don't then it'll make things worse. You know when you're shifting right when you feel the car slide into gear, and not stick or bind up. To do this, you have to shift at a variable speed. Go really fast till your just about in gear, pause for a split second to let the synchro's mesh properly, then push it the rest of the way in. IT's actually very simialr to how you use a clutch properly...
I hope this helps.
