Do I Need To Get The Cleaner For The Intake?

I'm about to purchase a AEM SRI for my Auto EX and was given the option to purchase an AEM intake cleaner for another $10-15. Is this something I need to get? How often do I need to use this? Is there a cheaper solution? $10-15 for chemical sounds expensive.

yeah get it. I've cleaned my filter with it about 15 times. Its better than buying a new one everytime. Its just dusty where I live, thats why.

I'd buy it, but if you don't water and soap, and high power jet machine will do the trick, but it is still no subsitute for the intake cleaners!

I highly recommend getting that cleaner, and clean the filter every time you get a oil change every time I clean my filter it makes a huge improvement.. but every time you clean your filter you HAVE to oil it to have it last..

thats NUTS TO NOT USE SOAP AND WATER! ... the cleaner comes with cleaner ... but thats not the important part of it.. it also comes with OIL SPRAY.. thats what makes the air flow threw it... GET THE CLEANER. the oil spray keeps the filter flowing properly

Yup.

To the guy who's cleaned it 15 times, that's just crazy. Very dirty K&N filters will still flow better than the stock paper filter.

Go ahead and get the kit. If not you should still be able to pick it up at an auto parts store 10-15k miles down the road. Be sure to follow the directions to for proper cleaning.
