Question Worth Shaving Trunk?

I have a dent on the corner of my trunk and it’s rusting. I asked several body shops around town how much to fix it and they all say that it has to be popped out from inside and then total repainted. So I figured as long al they were doing all that they could paint over the 'H' holes and maybe the keyhole. The shop that I trust most for quality of work said it would be about an extra $100, ending up costing like $500 or so.

So what is your opinion, should I have the 'H' and emblems all removed, and the keyhole? Or just the emblems? I was thinking that it might be a hassle some time to get into the trunk without the hole.

Opinions are appreciated.

For $100 bucks it is well worth it. I never use the lock on the trunk, i always use the popper by the drivers seat. But then again, i like my car like i like my women........clean shaven!!!

I know for sure I want to do the emblems, cause I’m going for that 'stealth' look...

Sometimes though I want in the trunk after I have locked my doors, and I ALWAYS lock that thing on the floor.

I think relocating the lock would cost even more $$$ cause of the mechanism and stuff, though it would kind of look better in the center if I did decide to keep it.

If you shave anything, shave it all. I suggest shaving it all.

hole shaved sounds funny

I cant see the pic cause we’ve got this norton internet security crap and the only person that knows the password doesn’t know how to fix it so stuff will show up here
If possible could you attach a picture from another website? I see that your icon has it, but it’s so small...

Check out this trunk, it is a j-body, but still worth looking at. This kid is from my hometown and pics don't do it justice. U have to see it in person to really appreciate it.

thats kinda my line of thought - alot of people are really stupid and would have no idea what car it is. and since ive got the jag-s tails, no altz then it thros them off that much more.

once at a stop light an off duty (i think) cop asked me if my car was a m3! hah!

i dunno about the camera in the keyhole - what about rain and snow and junk? have you ever looked at the back of your car esp. in the winter after driving? all kinds of stuff gets stuck there

m3???

yes, the keyhole is needed..

I had to open my trunk a long time by opening the driver door and using the handle..

Now i have a remote trunk popper.

accually the camera is waterproof, and it doesn't snow in LA...

and if you do shave the trunk, you should get a trunk popper like the DIY and hook it up to ur alarm

eh - i dont want people to be able to hit a button and pop the trunk.
i did try to get that feature when i got my alarm, but they didnt have the parts or somthing
but if someone wants in my trunk they are going to have to somehow get the keys from me and go do it manualy, i always have me keys with me - always. the only spare that i have is the valet key that cant open the trunk anyhow
