Rep Power: 0 V-afc installation HELP!!!!!
HI people. i just installed the v-afc (DIY#2 installed by professional). at first. no engine light. v-tec engage and every thing were fine. v/t cont to be H-L 4500 AND L-H4200. for that day, everything works well. but i feel like i am losing power. THAT'S NOT MY MAIN PROBLEM
the very next morning. engine light came on. i turn off my car, start it again, but the light still there. after 4-5 miles of driving, i want to see if my v-tec kicks in. so i step to about 4200 then my car start jerking. 5 mins after, engine light was off. and everything works fine after that. this happen to me every morning. i figure out my car needs to warm up every morning in order to have the v-afc to work. but i live in Toronto. i am worrying about this problem will stick with my for the whole winter. is there a solution??????? is there a better DIY i could try out?
PLEASE HLEP ME OUT for those of you who got it perfectly installed.

Rep Power: 389 Welcome to the problem that everyone has with the VAFC.
Time to wait and see if the VAFC II works on our cars.

Next time research before you buy a product. Apexi specifically said that it won't work with the 2001+ civics.

Rep Power: 0 There is no "real" fix... The CEL comes on with the short rev. limit, because the temp. outside reaches below 70 degrees. The trick is, when you crank your car up in the morning, let it run for a min. without pressing the accelerator. The engine light will come on and the rev. limit will push up to 4000rpm. Turn the car off and then back on so the car's rev. limit goes back to normal. You'll still have a CEL for a couple of miles down the road, but it eventually goes off. You should have done a little more research before buying the VAFC 1. If you still have these problems, just buy the VAFC 2 and try to sell your VAFC 1 on ebay.

Rep Power: 0 it was a gift from my girlfriend. i asked her if i could sell it, but she got mad. so i installed it anyway to impress her.
so that's mean i will have to stick with the CEL for the winter??? like i said before, i live in Toronto. it gets really cold down here.................

Rep Power: 0 i was the one that did the fix #2.... just had a 30 degree F morning and the CEL came on..... but it didn't light up on warmer mornings. i guess i would put the temp limit to greater than 40 degrees.

Rep Power: 0 i sold my VAFC and my VAFC II should be here tuesday. yeah the CEL blows. your best bet is if you keep your car in the garage open the garage a little bit and and then turn on your car and let it sit there and warm up before you leave in the mornings.
