Aem Cai/sri
Aem Cai/sri
IS there a reason why AEM says you can only use a CAI on a M/T EX and only use a SRI on a A/T? I want to put in a CAI in my A/T EX but their website say you can't and my friends say you can't - why not? Also, can anyone out there give me an honest opinion on which CAI is better? - The Injen or the AEM?

the automatic transmission is bigger than the manual, and the CAI goes in front of the tranny for the manual, but since the auto tranny is bigger, the pipes cant clear it
as for the best CAI, its strictly on opinions. injen and aem are equal to me. but if you want a CAI in your auto, get the injen CAI made for the auto.
the design of the piping on the injen and aem CAI are different. the aem CAI goes in front of the tranny and drops down close to the radiator so its still in the middle of the car if you look at the car head on. the injen however has a bend right in front of the tranny. it bends towards the right side of the bumper and the filter will end up inside the right front bumper. that's why injens CAI can fit an auto, it doesnt have to fit in between the tranny and radiator fans like aem. it just bends right, right above the tranny and goes into the bumper.
the injen CAI is longer than the aem CAI (i think) so it's not as loud, im just saying this if you want a nice sound too.
