Best Sounding Intake & Exhaust Setup
I am looking for a real nice sound thats loud, i dont like hi pitch ricer noise, i like deep toned. I heard a Greddy Evo the other day and it sounded good in low rpm but i could barely here it in the higher rpm. i want a deep sound all the way through. I also want an intake of the same concept, sounds good throughout the rpm band! someone said that injen was the best for that. What exhaust and intake should i get??
off topic: i was just gonna buy an intake on ebay and checked the bank account, mom and dad way overshot for school supplies and clothes! haha and im reaping the benefits!

I'm gettin' a GReddy, because I've heard it's the best for turbo...which I plan to have in the future. AEM CAI is the best, or so I've heard because you can switch it from CAI to SRI easily if it's raining...and it rains here in CO. Just my $0.02 !

SRI's Usually have the thickest diameter piping so thats why they are so loud...Really if you want a loud intake get a thick diameter piping intake!! Anyone know where i can find 3" piping?
Let me know if you dont want to spend alot cause i can get that muffler for $65 shipped. and its about 100 to install with piping at a muffler shop. So thats 165 for the exhaust setup
yeah, i wanna go complete cat back and would prefer to have it from a company like tanabe, where warranty and anything else may play into effect. as for intake... wont i get more horses out of a cold air?
Since you're gonna get a million different opinions, here's mine: Tsudo full cat-back is NICE and DEEP and LOUD!! Noticeable gains, affordable ($299), adjustable silencer (better w/o it), and comparable to the 5zigen Fireball (minus about $200). I have that with an Injen SRI (sweat the air release when you turn off the engine) and I have a HP Racing Header w/ Hi-Flow Cat so it's REAL LOUD!! I love it!! That's my $.02!
has anyone heard the tsudo? if its as loud as the tanbe which i doubt and if i can get some gains from it, than its a little better... i know the tsudo has 2.5" piping and a straight throgh design muffler. and i've heard that regardless of sri and cai that im barely gonna notice gains.. who has got $.02 on that????
And Answer to the injen CAI question: As far as i know injen makes two intakes a SRI and a CAI and the RD CAI is their only CAI.

man only one person has mentioned Apexi N1... whats up with that. I heard thats one of the best sounding exhausts anywhere. BTW my AEM CAI sounds freakin sweet which im sure most Intakes will sound.
Just tryin' to save you $$$

if tsudo has 2.5" piping.. is there a chance that u'll lose alot of gas mileage by creating a larger diameter exhaust pipe.. i always thought 2.25" piping was standard for our cars because of this.

Some intake/exhaust set up's actually have been known to give NEGATIVE HP. Don't go with anything larger than 2.25" unless your running 8PSI or more for Turbo or some hyped up Supercharger or a good swap with a turbo...if your just boltin on to the d17a, please stay at most for 2.25" piping for the exhaust. You'll lose too much back pressure and bog off the line & even stall out in some cases. This kid locally has a civ & thought he would be cool & put 2.5". He didn't like the sound it produced with the Ricer APC muffler he had, so he did 3" & the car almost wouldn't run unless it was @ almost 2500 RPMs......LOL.....
Intakes have also been known to give negative HP (depending upon motor). With an intake you are going to lose low end torque without a question. You will gain it back in the higher RPMS though.....just build you car with consistency. If you wanna focus on the higher end RPM band then get a CAI & str8 thru exhaust like the N1 or Tanabe...if you want low end, then get a little more restrictive cat back like the DC TCS or A'PEXi WS......

Well, I just gave you my god's honest opinion from personal experience with the Tsudo factoring in the set up I have (Injen SRI + HP Header), but I guess that wasn't good enough. Most peeps buy Tanabe, DC, or 5zigen for the same reason you buy name brand clothes, cuz' they're trendy. Shop around and find what's best for what YOU want out of an exhuast system, but don't ask for opinions and then dismiss it like I'm full of crap. That just doesn't make sense.
