You know that Door Kit that makes the doors open like the Lambo's? Well, for 1, I have read that it really does matter on personal taste first of all. Second of all, I just don't know if that someone likes the look of it (I like it), if it would be worth $1,600.00. I believe that's how much it goes for. Wouldn't there be a cheaper way of doing this?
They say on their website that their kits are perfect and all that, but it doesn't seem like such a harsh job to me. Can anyone elaborate on this subject of Lambo doors, I have searched a bit, but still would like some fresh input.
BTW: I have seen the info things sol on Ebay that claim you can do this mod for around $600.00.

i too would like info about those vertical doors. nice drawing. shaving your rear trunk lock should be easy if you haven't done it since the drawing here; there are just 2 bolts to remove and you can put a piece of wood or rubber there and bondo and paint (or put a sticker if you are getto like me) over the top of it and secure the remote metal bar that unhooks the latch to the inside to the trunk lid. there is already a latch for it under the driver seat, so a keylock is unnecessary and this deters theft a bit as well; it would be easier to set off an alarm snapping a latch than picking a lock.
members have already accomplished it here. One of the members with lambo doors car was broken into last month and he posted a thread about it.
here we go: lownslocvc's ride

he has a decah kit but it's been modified to fit the 7th gen. I'm not sure if they make one exclusively for our cars. For your suicide doors, check out Autoloc.com . you can get vertical door kits there as well. I haven't seen any sedans yet with this done. Including lownslocivic, there about 3 who had lambo doors.
Hehe and don't think this is a mod that will boost the price of your car when it comes time you decide to sell your eye opener. It's something a young kid will be amazed with, and if he has money maybe he'll buy it from you. But it's not something you can sell back to your dealership easily.

I was talking to a guy at a local import shop and he didn't have a good experience with those kits. I guess Decah sold one of his customers a kit that was supposed to be a direct fit on his celica, but they had to do a bunch of mods to it in order to make it fit. So instead of it being a weekend DIY project, it became a week long professional job. When they finally did get it to fit, one of the shocks blew out when the door was raised, and the whole door came crashing to the ground. This could just be one bad incident, though.
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

There were two 7thGens at the Speed Life show in Orlando, Florida yesterday w/decah kits. I was peeping at the work they did to make their doors that way, and they look good (as in factory quality). Looks like a crap load of work, but the final result I would give a 100% liking to.
