finally got my tanabe installed
i am a happy man now that i have truly become a ricer and cuz its my new mod. it sounds fucing nice too. i have 2 question tho.
1. should i keep silencer on or off?
2. why does it make a rattling sound when i step on it when the silencer is on? it sounds like 2 metals hitting eachother. what can i do to stop the rattle?

1. Keep it off
2. Its just the pipes banging against a part of the middle of the car..
i forget the name but its nothing to worry about at all..
BTW, having this exhaust doesnt make you a ricer!

your car prolly looks good and your just putting it down in mean ways!

Loud exhausts like a Tanabe are seen as rice ...you can try arguing against it ...but that's just how people who don't own these cars and supe em up like you do see it as.
Ricer, is as what one user here put it, putting form over function. What makes loud exhausts rice, is that its pretending that its making a loud sound because the car needs a freer flowing exhaust ...when you get 1hp gain for a 40db sound gain, it doesn't need an exhaust. The louder a car is, the more people would expect it to have the performance to justify the loudness. If it doesn't have performance, but is loud, then people will look at your car as being rice. When your car makes more noise than a BMW M3 but puts out 1/3 of the performance, that's not making a good impression.
I suggest putting a silencer on ...a 109hp car making a lot of noise is not what bursts my bubble.

Putting the silencer in will make you lose power. It resctricts the air flow. Just leave it off.

I think what Mikee was trying to say, and if you read part of that list you probably got his point...is this:
If you put i/h/e on your car, knowing it'll do little to nothing for HP or Torque, and it only makes a LOT of noise, you might be a ricer.
How's that?
Ex. Coffee-can exhausts with fart-cannon sound. Most exhaust systems sound like crap on a 4cylinder. It's just the nature of the motor and the way it fires. I'll admit there are exceptions, but most sound like crap.
