synthetic oil
I put in some 5w-30 mobile 1 synthetic oil about 500 miles ago and my friend told me that I shouldn't floor it or beat it at all because my engine is getting use to the new type of oil I wa just wondering if this is true because it is really tempting sometimes thanks.
5w-20 is what u should use, i know castrol synec has it, and purple (that what i use)
but 5w-30 is fine too.
and no, the engine doesnt need to get used to it, except if it is a new engine, then it has nothing to do with the oil, but rather breaking in the engine

The engine calls for 0w 20 oil. 5 w 30 will work but it will not lubricate as well. The engines tolerances are extremely tight and call for the lower weight oil. The 5 w 30 might wear your bearings and your crank wear down faster. As for sythetics, ever company makes 5 w 20 now. I would use an oil called amzoil, it might be around 6 or more dollars a quart i know a case of 12 is 75 dollars. It is in my opion the best oil ive ever seen.
everyone is going to give you different answers because its opinion based.

i used regular honda oil after my first oil changed at 2000 miles. after another 3000 miles, i used 5w-20 castrol. then after 2500 miles on that, went with 5w-30 mobil 1 fully syn.
i would try not to push the car to its limits until 5000miles has been reached.
