Rep Power: 0 2015 civic se HDMI splicing. Want to use factory hdmi port
So I'm installing a pioneer nex-8200 in my 2015 civic se. My car has a USB and hdmi port built in from the factory. The hdmi cable and USB cable both have some non standard connector on the end that went into the stock Honda head unit. Now does anyone have experience splicing into these? Is that doable?. Or I found the hdmi connector is called hdmi type e which is mostly for automotive use.. but found no adapters from female type e to the regular type a Male end. Anyone no who makes one?

I don’t see why splicing into would be a problem as long as you can get to the wires you need. That’s odd there is no adapter for it.
