2007 Civic cd Player

Just got an 07 Civic EX Coupe. When I insert a cd in the stereo it says "bad disc" and to see owners manual. I looked in the manual and didn't see anything that would help. Am I able to put in a custom stereo in these newer models? Or should I get the cd player fixed through Honda? Thx

ebay has dime a dozen factory decks if you need to replace it. did you try a cd cleaner first? its a disc with a small brush that cleans the laser lens. get the ones that say safe for slot drive. otherwise yeah you can go aftermarket and you need an expensive dash kit to replace the oem one.

Thx I will try a cd cleaner first and see if that helps. If not I will get a new custom stereo sooner than I planned.

Re: 2007 Civic cd Player

Older players are known to have probs dealing with home-burn CDs. But a new aftermaket should kick a** as long as u don't need it to look stock.

The cd cleaner didn't work. It wouldn't even read the disc just said "bad disc" and kept spitting it out. Custom stereo it is I guess.
