Hey there, I am interested in purchasing rpf1 for my 8th gen civic what is the perfect size I should go for and whats a good sticky summer street tire that you would prefer to run on them?

Best offset is a matter of opinion and what type of performance or look you want. Are you going for that Hella Flush look? Check out other 8th gens and see what size wheels they have. Most forums have a wheel thread with pictures and specs (I know we have 7th gen not sure about 8th).
For tires I love my BfG Sport Comp 2’s that i run in the summer.

I've decided to go with 17x9 +22 offset with 205/40/17 tires I will let you guys know later in the future what I think about the fitment and how it goes wish me luck!

205/40 is quite a low profile.
usually for 7th gen people uses the 205/45 or 215/45 (225 too wide for rears). The 8th gen have more space under the wheel wells, so i thought you could cram more tire there.

Your right about that plus that shouldnt go well with these pot holes where i am from. What would be a good size tire? I want it to looks like slicks like meaty but not to much

you should be good up to 215, for sure.
not sure how much fits under teh wells of a 8th gen, though. I think i saw some with 225, but don't quote me on that...
again, try tire rack or some tire website, enter your car info, and try to see if it says it fit or not.
