Driveshaft Replacement
Driveshaft Replacement
I was reading the driveshaft removal section in the Helms manual for a 2009 Civic. It stated that the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) needs to be drained. The You Tube videos for driveshaft replacement do not drain the ATF. Is it necessary to drain this fluid?

Re: Driveshaft Replacement
I don't drain the trans. I stick a catch pan under it then remove the axle. If it drips, it goes in the bucket. If no drips, that's good too.
Most won't dribble out the axle seals right away.....unless it sits a while and the converter drains.
