Car is vibrating

Heyy peeps!

I been having this vibration that is felt in the whole car. It started at the beginning of winter-ish when it was getting cold. Everytime i started the car especially when it sits in the cold for several hours. The whole car shakes and it has gotten worst. Now my keys are shaking while its in the ignition. The shaking continues when I put the car on reverse, however when I put it on drive then the rumbling completely stops. The thing is when I start decelerating the car starts rumbling again ( not sure if its linked to the problem). Now that it is getting warmer the rumbling is less obvious...

After having done some research I saw that there was often problem with Honda's top engine mount. I inspected the mount saw nothing that was wrong then I brought it to my mechanic, he said there was nothing wrong, then i brought to a DIY mechanic (friend) and said there was nothing wrong.

Im really not willing to pay fortunes to replace parts that "might" be a problem.

PS. The sound is coming from the left side, whdn you are facing the hood

I need some insights!!!

THANKS!!

Not the top mount. The one underneath it is the one that collapses.

See the pics in this post link, compare to your engine mount:

That's the right side of the car no matter where you stand.
Left and right on any vehicle are determined as you sit facing forward in the drivers seat.

Alright i will check that out tomorrow morning. I thought that that assembly would be considered the top mount.

Thanks for the insight!

That is what I thunk it is too! But all these mechanics are telling me its not and their reluctant to do the job. I would want to do it myself but i dont have the tools and garage to do it.

But thanks for the reply I think I will just find a way to put it on myself and find a place to do it.

Didn't you check out the pictures in the linked thread and compare to your own mount?

Alright good , I feel more relieved now as I thought it could have been something else more costly!

How much do you think it would cost to replace it? Unless I do it myself. Would it be an easy job? Mind you I know about cars but im not experience in doing mechanics.

Cheap aftermarket mounts tend to be made of harder compound and cause further vibration complaints.

IMO best is always a genuine Honda part

I don't think you told us what your car is, but it looks like you're in Canada
Here's a PDF of the service bulletin with the cars affected, and part numbers (USA, but the part numbers are probably still the same in Canada)and general replacement instructions

http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/HY...otor_mount.pdf

And here's a Toronto Honda dealers parts catalog link

https://torontohondaparts.com/

(call and speak to a human to make sure your order will be correct)

Check your VIN for needed recalls too
