2008 Civic pre-purchase what to look for?
I'm looking for a civic for my son who is about to turn 16. Obviously I don't want to spend a ton on money on his first car so everything I'm looking for is going to be somewhat high mileage and around 10+ yrs old.
Ex: I found an '08 Civic coupe with a manual trans. I haven't gone to look at it just yet but it looks pretty decent in the pictures. It has 143k miles on it for $3,500.
Besides the obvious of checking to see if things work, are there other things know for these years of civics that I should pay close attention to?
If I got serious I would see if I could get it to a mechanic shop to look it over but I'm not exactly sure how I'll work that out.
