2006 Civic EX Drive/Serpentine Belt Replacement?

HI everybody,
I'm new in this forum, and I have a 2006 Civic Ex with 160KMs or 100 miles, and I was wondering if I should be replacing the Drive/Serpentine Belt on my car anytime soon. I received a reminder from Honda recently about this, but I am wondering if I should have it done, and if anyone has an idea of the cost of this, in Canada... thanks eh!
:-)

7 years, or 100k miles is rated life of belt.

Thank you Craig, I guess I've done well then at 160,000kms, probably time to change it before the inevitable happens.
Any idea of cost involved?
Thanks.

Re: 2006 Civic EX Drive/Serpentine Belt Replacement?

An 06 could have received a replacement belt earlier in its life as part of another repair update, meaning it may be younger than the rest of the car.

The easiest check is to inspect the belt for cracking on the ribs or teeth, and deep weather cracking on the flat side. (turning brown as they age is normal though)

The majority of the original belts I've seen seem to last 10 years or 100k, sometimes longer.

If you want to get real nit-picky technical you can try to check this type of wear:

Or just replace it.
