2005 1.7 no spark won't start
Re: 2005 1.7 no spark won't start
So it cranks just fine? If there's truly no spark it could mean a whole manner of things. Check those spark plugs?
You're sure the fuel pump didn't go?
How old is the timing belt?

Honda factory trained mastertech.
I'm going to guess you probably don't have a spark test tool.
pull one of the coils out. insert a screwdriver in the end of the coil and lay it near one of the 10mm valve cover bolts. watch for the spark to jump across the shaft of the screwdriver to find its ground on the cover bolt while your friend cranks over the engine. You need to determine if you have spark or not. This is a dirty way to test it, but it works.
You have no other symptoms? No check engine light or temporary set codes? Is your engine making a whirring noise instead of a compression cranking noise as if the timing belt broke?

^What he said.^
FYI a flooded engine (wet spark plugs) will not fire on starting fluid either, even if it has plenty of available spark. Something to think about.
