My 2006's weatherstripping is fd. When I bought it from the dealership it opened the back drivers side door and it fell in. They said they would fix it. After about a month it started getting really bad. Now it's almost about to fall in again. Called the dealership and of course it's not covered. Took it somewhere else and they quoted me a grand with no promise it would be fixed. Help!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: 2006 Civic weatherstripping Huge problem.
I've seen it before.
A GRAND???????
There's a metal strip molded in so it can keep its grip(?). You could pull out the areas that are loose, and pinch the seal so it grips a little tighter so it doesn't fall down.
Retail for the "seal" is about $80 USD for one rear, of course you can find it cheaper on the internet.
Easy DIY: pull up plastic trims, peel it out..... and mash the new one in all the way around the opening.

Thanks man. Yea with this guy telling me a grand I figure my only option is to do it myself. I was thinking weatherstrip adhesive? Or just put in new ones all together?

A $grand$ is.......um......{EDITED} exce$$ive... IMO.
Especially if that price is for only one of them.
You always have options, go to a shop that isn't so....um....greedy.
I just pinch it together as I described and stuff em back up where they are supposed to go, whenever I have to pull one down for whatever work I have to do.
If they won't tighten up enough to stay in place, then I'd recommend replacement.
No, I don't think I personally would try any adhesive. It wasn't designed that way, and that makes a mess to clean up later on if it doesn't work the way you expected.
You can probably replace one in like 15 minutes, and that's including a coffee break.

A grand!! WTF
Maybe if you replaced all the weather stripping in the whole vehicle.
I would just order an OEM strip online and DIY it.
