Question 01 Civic EX check engine light

I already checked gas cap. I changed all the plugs back to NGK. Previous owner put BOSCH. Car stumbles a little still. In extreme heat she really lowers her rpms and feels like she is trying to stall. (5 speed). Changed alternator same time as plugs. I put a Denso brand new back in. The check engine light came on. I went home immediately. I smelled strong gas odor. Not normal. My civic has 130,000 miles. I take pretty good care of her. She does need oil change.
Also. The SRS light is on. Dealer told me it was the brain for seatbelts. It was a 1500.00$ fix and not necessary.
Please help. I never really have had engine problems. I am a single mom who abssolutely loves my Civic. Best car ever have owned. Thanks in advance. Here in Vegas people love to scam women. Crazy huh? Jk

Go to autozone and get the check engine light code read. Post what code it is and we can ell you from there.

What part of Vegas do you live in? I can probably take a look at it.

Red face Re: 01 Civic EX check engine light

The code was for the front O2 sensor. I already bought a Denso brand sensor. Will this affect the way my car drives, or is it something else. Her rpm's will drop and she tries to die. She really does it when it is really hot. 112 degrees outside hot.

Re: 01 Civic EX check engine light

yeah the primary oxygen sensor is partly responsible for how the computer calculates fuel trims.
