hello -

it pains me to write this, but ou beloved little 1981 Honda Civic may need a new home. The car is in excellent condition considering its age. I had a valve-job done on it and put in a new clutch & cv axles.

the only real problems are:

1) she still has the original carburetor, hard to start when cold, seems to sputter at full-throttle, sometimes when hot out the thing wants to vapor-lock.

2) oil leak at the main fan-belt pully, the valve-cover gasket has a leak, along with one of the axles. i have the seals but never got around to replacing them

3) it was painted, and the new paint job in spots seems to be flaking off. i tried sanding the spots down and spot-painting it with brown spray-paint

other than that, the car is in amazing shape. its been living in a garage for the past 10 years waiting for me to put on a new weber carburetor, but i will probably never get around to it. the upholstery is very good (was replaced), the tires probably have less than 100 miles on them.

i am near Sedona, Arizona. this was the car my then-girlfriend was driving when i met her in 1986. now the girlfriend is my wife and the car has been like our child.
