Re: 96-00 Replacement Hood Release Pull
1999 Civic EX here...So for these you would chip off, cut, grind, dissolve with acetone
the remaining black plastic and this will leave you with a Male threaded end that that **** pictured can be screwed onto...Also, what is the diameter of large surface? Adequate for grabbing?
I currently keep a vice in the door pocket...and have to pull the cord and then force it back in to get the latch to catch when i close the hood...THx

I'll only let you keep this thread up since because you've been a member since 2007, but read the market place rules and update the post accordingly.

Best deal?
Anyone can get the cable and handle for a civic 99-00 brand new for 15 dollars on Ebay(free shipping) with or without paypal... I understand from this post that you are only buying a metal handle for 20,25,30 dollars. The same handle that these look like are threaded and look identical to handles you can buy at your local hardware store for just a few dollars, IMO.
I need to replace mine, as to why I started looking at prices everywhere.

Well I machine them by hand. That's why they're more expensive. I know the oem one is less but it has broken before so I didn't want it to break again. Id you want to use a door **** feel free. But I use higher quality materials and I can tell you it's going to for and look better.

I do the same thing. I keep one in my driver side door.
