Rep Power: 0 FS: D17A1 and D17A2 both less than 1,000 miles
I have two motors for sale. Both have less than 1,000 miles on them!!! They were pulled/bought from LKQ (reputable salvage yard).
I am located in Indianapolis, IN (actually McCordsville) zip code 46055. Would prefer pickup but can ship for an addition charge.
First one: D17A2 (Civic EX) I do not know what year, I just know that it has less than 1,000 miles on it. Asking $600 obo. Take a look at the pictures:
Block Code
Top of Motor
Belt Side
Tranny Side
Rear/Throttle Side
Second one: D17A1 (Civic DX/LX) This came out of an 2004 with only 102 miles on it!!! Asking $500 obo. Look at the pictures and the pull tag:

Pull tag showing year (miles are in the "Type" heading 4 cyl with 102 miles)

You're stupid asking 600 for a sohc vtec and 500 for a sohc non vtec.

Sorry for taking so long to reply... I guess there is a scripting error when using Internet Explorer and it would not let me view. Someone on Honda-Tech pointed out that firefox still worked so I downloaded that and like magic the site "works" again.
As for the transmissions, no I do not have the transmissions that would go with this motor.
Thank you for your worthless post. These are not your 40,000 miles motors that people are trying to sell on Ebay. These are virtually BRAND NEW with less than 1,000 miles on them pulled/purchased from a VERY reputable junk yard/salvage company. If you do not like the price then make an offer... That is what OBO means

Also, I know I am new here, but I am very active in MANY online forums as I have owned TONS of different cars. If you would like any references, feel free to ask. Or check out my Ebay feedback (Ben99pcr).
Thanks,
Ben

Hmmm... Just checked. Cheapest D17A2 in my search was $450 with 128,000 miles. The one with the closest/lowest amount of miles listed was with 1,000 miles on the motor and the price is $1,500. The lowest mileage motor selling for the $600 I am asking has 62,000 miles.
Now lets talke about the D17A1... Cheapest in my search (that did not list needing more parts) was $450 and it has 65,000 miles on it. The one with the closest/lowest amount of miles listed was with 7,000 miles on the motor and the price was $1,250. The lowest mileage motor selling for my $500 asking price is 13,960 (actually they were asking $550, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt).
From my first post, the D17A1 has 102 ACTUAL MILES, the D17A2 no longer has the LKQ pull tag, but it has less than 1,000 ACTUAL MILES.
So how again do you figure they are not worth that much from the link you posted? Seems to me it proves that I should be asking more for my motors that have LESS THAN 1,000 miles on them.
Thanks for the though.

Forgot to add... The D17A1 is possibly pending, just have to get a shipping quote to NY, and the D17A2 has requested a shipping quote to TN (I do not know how serious this person is yet).
So I might have them both sold for the asking price which I find very reasonable/fair considering the miles/condition of the motors.

found many d17a2 engines on car-part.com for less than 500 and most had less then 1000 miles minus one i found had 11,000 on it for 400 bucks. These engines don't go for very much. good luck on your sale man

Thanks... But no one has even made an offer. I am willing to sit on it till someone wants it and is willing to make an offer. That side of the garage is a wreck right now anyway (I have a '98 Buick GS 3.8L Supercharged V6, '06 Grand Prix GT 3.8L Supercharged V6, '98 Saturn SL2 1.9L DOHC, '04 Civic 1.7L Non-Vtec and '01-'05 Civic 1.7L VTEC all sitting on that side of the garage.)
Also, the pricing goes by area. I might try throwing it up on craigslist and see if I get any bites on there.
Thanks for the help though.

Do you have the trannies for those motors or is their any way you can get some for a decent price? im looking for an EX tranny for my 7th gen. I replaced the bearings in my old one but it still makes noise so im just going to replace the whole transmission. Also i think its breaking my drive shafts. Just bought some from a junkyard about a month ago or so and today i started to hear that clicking noise again.

Sorry, I did not get any trannies with these and really have no current source for them. If I run across any here soon I will let you know though.

I searched LOCAL... Here is local pricing... Cheapest is $400 with 98,000 miles:
Thanks for the bump though
And for the 100th time for those who cannot read it is OR BEST OFFER which means I do not expect to necessarily get asking price and if you think the price is high to make me an offer of what you will pay.
