So i think the time has come to move on to bigger and beeter things. I am going to be retiring from the N/A community i think. I am going to be selling my baby.
I have a 2002 honda civic sedan. I currently have a built k24a2 motor in it (details following). Unfortunately in Cali we have strict emmision laws and when i sell the car i need to have it smogged which this wont pass. Also the motor is worth more out of the car than with it. I will be putting a k20a3 complete STOCK swap in it to sell it. Asking $9995 for the car like that or if anyone wants it with the k24 i'll let it go for $12,500. Smogging will be your own issue.
So right now the motor is still in the car. I have put about 15,000 miles in it and it runs strong as the day i got it. If i have a buyer i will remove the motor asap. i dont really need the car in driving condtion i just want to see if some one wants the car as is.
The motor was built and tuned Mike by Autowave in Huntington Beach, CA. He did a great job and spent a lot of time on it. It was featured in November and December's issues of Honda Tuning Magazine.
Here's the List.
04 TSX block (got type-s head for free)
03 Type-s head
Type-s oil pump and pan swap
Pinched oil squirters for added oil pressure
HUGE Pauter rods (redline 8800 in k24!!!)
Custom 87.5mm CP pistons 11.5:1 compression
IPS k2 cams with Eibach valvetrain
Stock valves and studs
Car orringionally dyno'd at 232whp and 176wtq. I put 8k miles on it and a stock 06 axleback exhaust and car put down 249whp and 182wtq. on same dyno and same conditions. Car runs trong as ever.
I know you guys may have questions so just ask. I will also be selling my frankenstien trans as well.
My asking price for the motor is $4k

How much will it cost to swap this motor into my coupe? Do you have someone in so cali that can swap it? I just sold my bike and i wouldnt mind putting a new motor in my car since i have so many miles on it.

i know a good tech that could do it with me. he is a wiring genius and a honda tech at fladeboe in irvine. you will need mounts, subframe, ecu and exhaust.
would probably cost around 10k with all parts and labor with this motor. Stock k20a2 normally cost about 7k. if you want to swap for my 5 lug with your stock 4 lug i have a set of axles and my passenger side mount is modded for a k24 so we can swap side mounts. let me know. i know its a lot of $$$$ but its really fun

why dont you just get it smogged illegally? Or get your car bar'ed and smog it with the stock parts. If a tsx can passs i'm sure you can pass with the k24, long as the stock parts are on there.

Not trying to hijack your thread, but there's another dude selling his car with a K20a2 right now, but he's saying he can't get it BAR'd without the "Manufacturer's Warrant of Emissions". I have never heard of this, can anyone elaborate?

pm replied. and ask hondaluver about the bar issue, he had no problems with his k20a3 with stock cat and ecu.
