I've never understood this. Are there actually some cars in the Japanese market that have hoods installed like this from the factory?
No...just a poor man's cowl hood. Draws in air from the negative pressure into the engine bay...
If it's not produced in the Japanese Domestic Market, how can anyone call it JDM?
These must be the same people that put mesh in their bumper and reduce airflow. A much better solution would be to take a look at where the gaps are in the front of your vehicle and use them to properly filter air into and around the air intake. Colder air is denser air.

yea ive seen this but how do you open the hood... a little higher on the cowl induction and itll be up like my old stang lol
