Head Unit Questions

Hey guys I'm new. Just gotta 2017 Civic HB w/Turbo and it's super fun. So I'm looking for advice on getting a new head unit. I'm not quite sure about the android units because I'm an audiophile and plan on getting an amp and subs etc. I'm worried these android units are not really gonna give me the audio quality I want and could also be detrimental to the speakers as far as all of the different apps and settings that you can use. Plus I would have to use an equalizer app....which I'm not sure if there's even one that's any account. Any suggestions?

Re: Head Unit Questions

Haven't quite looked into it myself, but I've seen a lot of people run line output converters (particularly the AudioControl LC2i for those just looking to add a sub, LC7i for those wanting to do full systems), then let the amp do all the work. From there, whatever native EQ settings in the head unit for adjustments to get the sound to your liking. The latter part, I'm really talking out of my *** because I haven't looked into it super hardcore. I want to upgrade my audio, as well. I've settled for adding tweeters to my 18 Sport and that did enough to make me content, but I do want a bit more.

Question though, what trim level do you have? LX or Sport with the basic *** head unit, or EX/EX-L/Sport Touring with the touchscreen interface?

its the LX with the non touch screen. It only has the basic eq settings which isnt enough for me. But i dont wanna upgrade if im gonna lose accessory functionality. I already against the android head units.
